Stuff Gets Done Today
Got Dad's laundry out of the way today. Settled in to watch AC360 and it did not disappoint; in fact, CNN International was rather lively today, bouncing from London to Hong Kong and then to New York for Wolf Blitzer's pre-speech coverage. The speech in question, of course, being that of President George W. Bush on the Iraq situation. The sight of Gary Tuchman on the floor, together with the crew and everyone else in Balad as an incoming mortar is spotted, brings home just what the correspondents and crew go through to bring the news to the folks at home. Much as I've enjoyed the field reports, I'm also going to feel easier when they get home. I'm thinking it would be nice to see Nic Robertson sitting in the anchor's chair at CNN London, too, after all that traipsing about between Saudi Arabia and the Afghan border. Micheal Ware should, once he extracts himself from where he's embedded, come home covered with awards and glory for his journalistic efforts.= = = =Burned off some files from the external drive, converted some others, and will burn off more tomorrow. After lunch, went off to the Alterations Plus in Santuario to have two pairs of pants adjusted, and a dress of Mom's. I'll be able to pick the clothes up tomorrow after Mass, yayz! Then we went to Bonifacio High Street, and had something to eat at this restaurant whose name I forget. We met an old associate of Ramon's, and life was good until we got home. I think the onions in Ramon's hamburger triggered something, because the pain scale went from 3 to 6 in the space of ten minutes. The Tums I had Ramon take after buying them in S&R didn't seem to be working - the acid must have built up too fast - so I had him drink an Omepron, which seems to have settled things down. He seems to be resting comfortably now; not that rest with a thread of pain running through it.Poor dear man! He's not been happy at all eating bland food, and now we find out that even a simple burger could set off his hyperacidity. Anyway, I think we've managed to stop the nasty in its tracks.Being that I have managed to wring myself into knots over the past hour or so, I think I'll stop here. Nothing much left to the day anyway, and I've got to clean up before bed. Catch you all when I catch you!^__^
