Causes for celebration

First off - it was my goddaughter's 21st birthday. She's now legal in all the ways there are, and my fondest hope for her is that she will continue to shine (with allowances for those life-suckage moments) with all the gifts God gave her - because Lord knows, the world needs people like her so much.

Second - Ramon was feeling recovered enough to toddle about Market!Market! by himself, while I immersed myself in Fully Booked, killing time while waiting for Ryrie-chan and goddaughter to arrive at Serendra. Ramon found himself a barber that also gave him a good long massage after his haircut, and tonight I am sure I will hear the snoring of a totally relaxed husband, praise God.

Miracle of miracles, I walked into Fully Booked, fell in love with at least six dozen titles, and walked out without buying a thing. I have promised myself some titles for Christmas, though - which gives me about three and a half months to breeze through some of the books that have been lying around for ages. Who knew that a new "Tales of the Otori" volume would surface before I even started the series? ::sighs::

My AC360 fix did not disappoint - the second hour, which is normally a full replay of the first, suddenly showed up with two segments that didn't appear in the first! If this is going to be a trend, oooh, there will much fun on the AC blogs and mailing lists! One of the new bits was a thing called "Fit or Fat", with Dr. Sanjay Gupta answering questions from the viewers, and saying that if one wanted to see what fit was like, all they had to do was look at Anderson. ::grin:: The other bit was a profile on the man who figured greatly in the Glasgow car bomb incident - John Smeaton, the baggage handler who rescued a man from the flames and helped catch the surviving perps. They subtitled him, bless!

Played a wee bit with GIMP and came up with my new default icon. ::grin:: It's free to a good home!

Managed to sneak in a nap before the birthday dinner, which, allied to a cup of coffee, explains to all and sundry why I am bright-eyed and bushy-tailed instead of tired and sleepy. ::yawns and grins to self::

Will stop here, to see if I can come up with a few new drabbles. It's been a good day all around - let's see what tomorrow brings.
