Floating on waves

Ramon had a wretched night, and it took him most of the day to recover from it. ::sigh::

I do report with cautious optimism, however, that the gastritis appears to be under control. On the pain scale of 1 to 10, it's now hovering at 2, from a nearly-constant 6. So...I continue to watch and pray, in the most literal way possible. Both of us managed to have good long naps this afternoon, and once I fetch in the cats and shower up, all will be well.

I managed to format my 2000 Europe travel diary for posting. I just need to write up a few more entries and figure out a name for the blog (yay Wordpress!) and then there will be a posting spree of major proportions. After which, another project I can shelve for posterity.

I managed to get my AC360 fix, and the whole Larry Craig thing is beginning to look like a telenovela. Getting nabbed in an airport restroom when you're a senator is bad enough. Changing a plea of guilty to not guilty compounds it. Now, after his speech seems to have led everyone to believe he's going to resign, he may *not* resign after all. Oye!

Then that NYT article about the tapes of the AC360 Katrina special allegedly getting lost in transit, so that AC had to be recalled from vacation (I didn't know the man had it in him) to re-tape? But...he was scheduled to be live on Oprah the day before the taped thing aired. So wouldn't it have been just too easy to stay over the needed days to tape whatever it was before running off on vacation in the first place?

Well, I hope a logical explanation emerges. I can't manage to figure out one for myself. ::grin::

Ma, bless her heart, has decided to involve herself in Ramon's recovery. She is all but force-feeding him with rice porridge and rice water and soft foods that his tummy can tolerate. She is filling my ears with the old-time remedies that have never failed in this family, and we are using them in conjunction with modern medicine. So you see, my husband will get over this - he just has a few more days to use up his medicines first.

Have run out of things to report, so I'm good to go. Ramon's resting comfortably, with the last of his daily meds popped into him. Hopefully we will have a quiet night, please God.
