So sue me if anyone has ever noticed this before, but...why is it, after all these years I've been using LJ, the only way to edit comments to another person's post is to delete your original text and start all over again?

Shouldn't there be a button that drops down the edit field or bring you to an edit comment page or something?

I'm pretty sure it's that way by design, though I am not sure whether it's a technical issue or a social one.

What would happen to the email notifications? They can't touch it once it's in your inbox. Would it be feasible to resend per edit?
