O HAI, ER!

Ramon's tummy decided to cramp on him this afternoon. When I asked him to show me where the pain was, he pointed to a spot just under his ribs, on the left side - which was enough for me to bundle him into warm clothes and get him to the Makati Med ER. Primary Care again, what is normally the outpatient clinic.

Ach, the poor man, he was in pain, not helped by the fact that the attendings stuck a heplock into him and took his blood sugar. They gave him an ECG as well, given his history. There were two medicines given to him, and then we had to sit it out for about 45 minutes to see the effects.

ECG shows a blip, nothing to worry about, says the attending. After the 45-minute waiting period was up, Ramon was given Maalox, and we had to wait some more. Ramon refused to lie down, so he sat in the watcher's chair while I lay down on the hospital bed; and so we nuzzled until the attending came back and said all things being equal, we could go home.

::huge sigh of relief::

Went to Mercury, refilled existing prescriptions, bought new prescriptions from ER attending, and then went home. Parents were gone to church when we arrived, and presumably they ate out and were caught in the Midnight Madness or something. Ramon barely ate - just enough to make it worthwhile to drink his medicines, and now he's sleeping like a baby.

Which doesn't stop me from checking on him every time I hear a sound. It's usually something that carried over on the wind from the neighbors, and then my heart starts beating normally again.

Augh. Wallet not happy. Brief stay in ER cost $$ since medicines were given. Prescription meds cost $$ also. May have to break into my little "piggy bank" unless a miracle happens and Dad suddenly agrees to reimburse all the grocery expenses I ran up. Thank God for stock dividends with substance - I'm due to receive one on September 3rd, which will make life livable, if not luxurious.

= = = =

God will make a way, I'm sure of it. I just wish I knew where the signposts were pointing at the moment. ::grin::

I seem to have caught up on everything, seeing as how everyone in the States is on holiday till Tuesday. Watched "Anvil of God" on CNN and found myself sniffling in places. Such a sacrifice of life and hope! Tom Foreman did AC360 proud with this report, and I'm glad that after being sidelined so often in favor of breaking news, the project finally got to see the light of day! Wrote and told CNN so, yes, I did. ::grin::

So I'll stop here for the moment. If something manages to catch my eye later, you'll know.

Glad Ramon is okay! You're such a rock. ::hugs::

As of this morning, on a scale of 1-10, the pain is now between 2 and 3. The situation reached frightening proportions around midnight (oh, why always in the dead of night?) when the pain went from 5 to 8. @___@

Sometime during the night, I woke up to hear hubby snoring. Which relieved me a great deal - surely people don't snore if they're in severe pain, right? I slept so soundly after that that poor dear hubby couldn't wake me up earlier this morning!

All is well for the moment - though I have a huge PMS headache. And an equally huge hole in my wallet which scares me a touch more than Ramon's health. But I'm not going to borrow tomorrow's trouble, as they say.

Thanks for the concern and well-wishes! I hope this finds you well. ::squish::

Ack. Scary! I would be checking on him all the time too. Glad it wasn't too bad but still.

*hugs*

It wasn't too bad when we left the hospital, but then - in the middle of the night, as always! - the pain got worse. On a scale of 1 to 10, it was about 8...and here I am wringing my hands after giving him his meds and praying for them to take hold.

He fell into a fitful sleep holding my hand, and then sometime in the night I heard him snore. Never have I been so happy to hear that sound; snoring isn't something people do when they're in extreme pain, right? As of now, the pain is down to 2.5 on a scale of 10. ::is relieved::

Now I'm the one with the gigantic PMS headache. You just *have* to love the timing of these exciting events!

Thanks for the concern and the hugs. Hope this catches you well!

Ramon's doing all right now. He must have had a bad can of pineapple juice to have his tummy act up the way it did.

Hopefully during Mass this afternoon, I will get a fix on those signposts God has set out on that way He's making for me. ::grin::

I'm glad it turned out to be nothing! *hugs* Take care.

::squishes you::

All appears to be well - the pain has gone down from 8 at midnight to 2.5 after breakfast this morning. We're well enough to go to Mass this afternoon, yay!

I'm the one with the pounding PMS headache now. ::shrug:: Ah, well, that's life, and the pain is only temporary.
