Somewhat Out of Touch

As of this writing, I am watching this week's feature (dance in all its forms) on Quest - as Richard Quest is one of my favorite reporters on CNN. If I think about it carefully enough, I do believe he was my first favorite before Anderson Cooper came along. As it is, I do believe the squeeing would never stop if I ever caught the two of them together on the same show...

Today was quiet. Ma supervised the defrosting of the freezer, and I remembered to warm up the genset. ::bounce:: I put in a few extra hours of sleep after breakfast. ::bounce::

Got rid of Vienna as my feed reader and installed Shrook. Yup, I am in a "winter of discontent" again, when I find myself fussing over things that I want, but not really knowing what *exactly* I want. Auugh.

The cutest thing happened today - a little tricolor kitten walked into our garage begging for food. I heard its plaintive mewling and opened the side gate to let it into the laundry area. Introduced it to kibble and milk, which it enjoyed a good deal. Which is not surprising, since it's quite skinny for its age. I think it wandered too far from home, poor baby.

We've called it Pica-pica (trans: finger food), because her tail is "piko", or bent at the end. Just like the tail of our little Trixie-cat. In fact, little Pica could be taken for one of Trixie's kittens, since her color splotches resemble those of our little princess to an amazing degree. It is highly possible the small one will grow up to be equally spoilt. ::grin:: We're scheduling her for a visit to the vet as soon as office hours begin, if only to be sure that she's fit to mingle with the others. Said others are suspicious of the newcomer, and after giving her cursory sniffs, are keeping far away from her. In time, of course, they will all be friends, and in a few months, if she decides to stay, we'll have to spay her, to prevent population problems.

Mass as usual in the afternoon, then dinner with the parents at PriceSmart. They now carry pretzels, how interesting. Picked up some stuff while we were there, because there's nothing like a warehouse store for getting certain things in bulk.

Home again, to be possessed once more by the spirit of laziness. There is still quite a lot to burn off from the portable hard drive; and there are magazines that I really ought to read before giving them away - or rather, that I should read so that I can give them away at all. But somehow I just couldn't get around to it.

What happened was that I watched most of "The Bone Collector" and enjoyed the bits I never really noticed the first time I saw the movie. For example, there was Queen Latifah as Denzel Washington's nurse; and the serial killer is one of the characters on "ER" - which is kind of cute, seeing the intersection of "St. Elsewhere" and "ER" in a movie about forensics. Angelina Jolie was interesting in the role, with some of her poses evocative of her later Lara Croft movies.

Oh, my heavenly days. Richard Quest is going to ballroom dance in front of an audience. ::blinks:: This needs all my attention, so I'll close here. Catch you all whenever!
