Recap - July 29, 2007
Yay, July 28th doesn't need a recap either - I have an epic post up on the date itself. The 29th also has a post on the date itself, but it was written while I was tired and feeling blah. I did take a lot of notes, though, so here we go for the 29th, which was a full day on top of a day without enough sleep. I am beginning to feel like a zombie, yo!
Ramon was left at home to rest and recover from all the excitement of the night before, while I took the parents to the 9.00AM Mass at Santuario. Afterwards, we cruised through The Fort, using the new route that's been opened up. It leads straight to the top of the High Street, which has a marvelous set of perspectives now that Serendra One is almost ready for occupancy and the High Street itself is starting to look more filled-out. I followed the road leading through the school district, then came round the back of S&R and the future headquarters of St. Luke's, then took the flyover leading to Bel-Air and Rockwell.
We strolled about for a bit, then had lunch at Pho24. A bit unfulfilling for me, (had to split a bowl of soup with the two seniors) but Dad's penury is something to be worked around. He's acting as if Ma and I are the biggest spenders since money was invented - but whoever told him to take more than half the "grocery money" and tie it up in an investment for four years? Wasn't he the one who kept saying we should be liquid more than invested? ::throws up hands in surrender:: What-EVER. Still, Pho24 isn't such a bad place to eat. I suspect it is an affiliate of Banana Leaf Curry House, since it sits just across the hall and the waiters run back and forth.
The malling continued after lunch. It seems that the Power Plant has been undergoing some renovations since I was there last. At the top floor, the Gloria Jean's is out, and the Coffee Bean will soon be in. The Chinese resto beside Fully Booked is out, and Make Room has moved into it from the second floor. The Apple store is under renovation. The chapel has a projection wall, woot! So folks seated in the entry foyer can have an up-close and personal view of the altar.
The old space of Make Room has been taken over by a place called Sumo Sam and a future California Pizza Kitchen. What used to be a jumble of furniture displays has now been swept aside in favor of a future Healthy Options, a future Landes, and a brand-new National Bookstore. The new set-up looks mighty fine, and I for one am happy to see a CPK in Rockwell.
Got the parents home and had an hour or two to rest before getting Ramon over to the 4.30PM Mass at Santuario, and my delayed Sunday coffee ritual at Starbucks. After we got home, I was hit with a full-on bout of PMS blues (at least, that's the only explanation that makes sense), hence the short post on that day.
And now you have the rest of the story!
