Need to stop and collect myself

Lordy, but it's been a busy time around here!  Given that I last posted on Saturday, there's a whole lot of recapping to do, isn't there?  Tomorrow I stay home and do Dad's laundry, though, which should give me some time to catch up on...a lot.  Don't know if I'll run off to S&R to pick up some cat food and other groceries.  We'll play it by ear.

In the meantime, I'll let you all in on what happened today, and whatever else can fit into this entry.

Seems that I missed a massive journal client outage while I was busy with real life.  A fortuitous piece of timing, that!  ::grin::  Today started early - had to go pick up investment dividends, and because we finally arrived before the savings and loan office even opened, we were able to get a head start on the queue.  The whole business took just a little over an hour; by 9.00AM we were on our way to Dad's bank so he could deposit his check.  I didn't have to worry about collecting anything - the dividend is deposited straight into my account.

By 10.30AM we were in front of Mom's bank, where it was agreed that the parents would go into the fast-food strip across the street, while I parked the car in the bank basement and took care of depositing Ma's check.  This took a little while, but by 11.00AM I was able to join my parents at Chow King, for a delicious breakfast of congee and tokwa't baboy (tofu and pork mixed with soy sauce, vinegar, and raw onions).  Yum!

By 11:45AM we were out of the bank and into the basement of Glorietta.  Ma wanted her hair cut today, and Dad decided to join her at Bench Fix.  This left me free to dash off to Mercury Drug to refill Ramon's prescriptions, buy him a newspaper, and have coffee and a doughnut at Starbucks.

After the parents had done with their haircuts, we backtracked to Mercury Drug, where the parents bought stuff and I ran into Fr. Bob McConaghy from Greenbelt Chapel.  I must say he's looking good, and this is his last year in-country.  I told him about Ramon's adventures with his health, and he has promised to hold us in prayer - which comforts me greatly!

This reminds me that I have absolutely no idea about what happened at the Chapel's anniversary celebrations.  The event was scheduled on July 18th, and I was preoccupied with the parents' post-op care from cataract surgery.  Most everyone was probably preoccupied as well...::grin::

Came home and promptly lay down for a nap the minute I changed out of my clothes.  Woke up around 4.00PM to the sound of the doorbell announcing the messenger bearing our copy of the Village Gazette.  From there, it was a matter of choosing between taking up the slack from all the stuff that's been piling up, or taking time off to get things organized first.  I took the latter option...which means that disposing of the backlog should flow fairly easily.

I am happy that I was able to post up four new entries of my 1984 journal to Wordpress, at long last!

Here's some of the stuff I have lined up for tomorrow:

- warm up the genset

- run Dad's laundry through the machine

- put away my clean laundry

- sort through the backlog of papers

- post receipts to the spreadsheet

- sort through the papers in the inbox

- phone pay the mobile phone bills

- write up LJ recaps

Err...so maybe not *all* of it will get done tomorrow.  I'll settle for at least three or four, as some activities can be multi-tasked (genset/laundry/one other task).

Time to sign off.  CSI season finale is airing on AXN, and I'd like to watch it with more than half my attention.
