Banking and a little bit of the mall today

Opened a new account for the little windfall that I got last Monday - at least, that part of the windfall that I won't be needing in the next three months to cover necessary expenses. Ma also spoke to her account manager on the disposition of some of her extra cash, and tentative arrangements for an expected cash inflow in a few months. It was good to get that out of the way; now we won't have to worry about the nest egg for a while.

From the bank, we set off for Glorietta. Lunch was had at Jollibee, in a blatant forsaking of Italianni's, which has seen our custom for several visits running. Fried chicken and a slice of Black Forest cake for afters was good. ::pats tummy::

Then Ma got her passport pictures taken. She signed the renewal form when we got home, so a visit to the travel agency is in the queue for next week's activities.

Toddled about for a bit, then went home when Ma's hip started to ache. I have to book a massage session for her, on Sunday at the Mandarin. She's not been there for quite a while, and no doubt the tension and the heat are contributing to her crankiness of late.

Watching Season 3 of ER on Hallmark, I finally understand why all the girls were bonkers over Noah Wyle and George Clooney back in the day. ::grin:: I am quite taken with Wyle, as it happens; if I had a doctor that looked that good, I'd be going in for consults every day, I would. ::grin::

Other than that, it's been a quiet day. Peaceful and calm, not counting the visit from Bad Cat, who always brings mayhem in his wake. I don't mind that he comes calling, but for goodness' sake, it's not done to whup the residents. Our boys and girls are a feisty lot, though, and Bad Cat doesn't really lay a hand on any of them - his visits are mainly shouting matches.

I seem to be falling back into the writing groove? Two days ago I finally got around to tapping out two little scenes that popped into my head. One is NC-17 with original characters and the other is...romantic sort of mush based on a TV series. (No, I'm not saying which one.) ::chuckle:: It felt good to get the plot bunny into words, and not worry about things like plausibility and political correctness. No one but me is going to enjoy them, anyway. ::grin::

Maybe in time, I'll let one of my creations loose on you all, and watch you faint dead away. That's the thing about being in the company of writers who've stayed in practice; one gets a wee bit shy about presenting their own work to the slings and arrows of fortune. Meh, I'll just friends-lock any fic posts, that way I'll be sure that any suggestions/criticism/violent reactions will be for my own good. ::huge ebil grin::

But really, it *is* fun writing down random scenes and then suddenly trying to lace some of them together into a coherent whole. ::bounce::

So. Back to some inspirational material, and then cleanup and bed. Hope everyone with a holiday is enjoying the weekend!

It's good to see writing inspiration strike others.
