Small discoveries
Have been having a lot of "Duh!"/"Eureka!" moments in the span of the last hour while playing with Documents To Go and the Palm HotSync. One of the most delightful discoveries was that my Palm and my AppleWorks can exchange files, which means a whole lot of squee! Or at least, happy burbling.
I also discovered the File-Zoom function so that I don't develop frown lines trying to read the imported documents. Which is, if you think about it, a belated discovery, seeing as how I've been using Documents To Go for nearly a month.
Then I found out that Journler can import files. @__@ It works best with plain text, though, if you want to see it as a regular entry. All other formats appear as attachments. Not really a bother, though.
Brought Ma to the cemetery this morning, because the caretaker needed money for medicine. His wife was a beneficiary of a free eye clinic that was opened during the campaign season of the last elections; and she came through all right. However, the follow-up medicines aren't freebies, hence the need for money.
We actually arrived early at the cemetery, so while waiting, I managed to finish reconstructing the last of the travel journal entries in the current batch on my Palm.
From the cemetery, we went to Cash-n-Carry. The renovations over there are going well; the place will be a very nice looking mini-mall for the area once they're done. Ate an early lunch at Jollibee, and then we did some grocery shopping. Realized that it was noon because the atmosphere in the supermarket started to feel more humid than it should have been with the airconditioning on. Wished I had an umbrella to keep the sun off me when I went to get the car - as it was, I felt like a piece of lardy toast when the car aircon finally kicked in. ::wrinkles nose::
Seriously? An umbrella in the middle of summer is a wonderful thing. Don't care if umbrellas are meant for the rainy season, anything is better than being directly blasted by the noontime sun in this stretch of the world.
Got home, unloaded the groceries, changed out of travel clothes, wiped myself down with a hand towel, applied powder with a promiscuous liberality, and got into clean clothes. Chatted up the cats, who were bent on telling tales about each other, and then dozed off, not to wake up until three in the afternoon.
Experimented with Documents To Go, with the results mentioned above. Uploaded the three entries on my Palm up to the Wordpress journal. Removed those three from the Palm, and now I have four more entries waiting to be edited during odd moments. Plus a drabble. ::bounce:: Even an expense tracker! ::bouncebounce::
Dinner was had, and then I jumped into the shower to refresh myself. ::bliss:: Am currently waiting for the Taiga drama to show up on TV. Will stop here, and take a peek at e-mail and news feeds.
