Too lazy to blog properly

Let's just say it was a good day all around:
- met the person whose dissertation proposal I will edit, and have promised the manuscript back to her by Tuesday
- dispatched all the Padre Pio bread dough portions
- cooked my own Padre Pio bread and it turned out edible, praise God
- bought 50pcs Iomega CDs and two 25-pc pudding cases for the next round of burning
- had lunch with hubby at Bubba Gump ::burp::
- bought supplies at National Bookstore, as planned
- bought groceries at SM Supermarket

A full day of walking about, then home to the usual chores. Online activities also include the usual round of e-mail, feeds, LJ_Friends, torrent downloads.

Tomorrow I bring Ma to the dentist. I'll just finish the current download, then off to bed.

You know the concept of chain letters? It's kind of like that, only applied to baking. ::grin:: See, someone passes you a portion of dough that's supposed to be like the kind of bread that Padre Pio (famous stigmatist scheduled for canonization) used to make. Mine came from a batch that started in Rome, allegedly.

So there are instructions, which you are supposed to follow, and then on the 10th day, you divvy up the dough into four portions. Keep one, and distribute the other three. Bake your share and eat it with the family. It's supposed to bring blessings and you can only make it once in a lifetime.

This page has an interesting discussion on the subject. (http://www.catholic-forum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=7592) Turns out this is, as I suspected, a chain-baking thing; never realized it's been around for a while. Still, the bread tastes pretty good, and the recipe is a no-brainer, so no harm done!
