Dentist and malling

Got my Express Cash card from the bank today, and added the account number to my phone pay list so that I can reload it even if I'm not near an ATM. Been thinking that if things work out, this may see more use than my credit cards once the debt is all paid off. ::nods::

Went to the dentist and discovered that I had not one, but two starter cavities in my "smile zone", so of course Dr. Cris was nice enough to fix them. Dad once suggested I try the (cheaper) dentist over at the barangay, but I scotched that idea. Dr. Cris and my teeth have had a wonderful relationship for nearly four years now, and he knows how my fillings and tooth enamel should look, along with my gums and what all concerning my mouth. Why break up a good thing?

Every six months I bring my teeth for inspection, and this is the first time we've had to do more than an oral prophylaxis. But I can smile for sure, now - not to mention take better care of my teeth now that I'm no longer stressing out over Ramon's health as much as I used to.

Bumped into old church-mates at the Bridges (nee Goodwill) Bookstore after lunch, and was asked the most inane question imaginable: "What are you doing here?" To which my retort was: "What *else* does one do in a bookstore - one shops!" Said so sweetly, of course, that everyone laughed. Heh. Ramon showed up and they were given the condensed version of his visits to the hospital. Dr. Gatmaitan and Dr. de la Rosa got free plugs, as inquiring minds wanted to know who Ramon's medical team were.

Picked up a pair of magazine file cases at Bridges, and discovered when I got home that I'm still short one piece. Bwah. ::shrug:: It's an excuse to go back, though there's precious little merchandise there. But it's a better place to photocopy papers, since there's far less of a line - I managed to get three copies of my Padre Pio bread materials (eeek! Must stir the dough later!) and Ma's passport in about half the time it would take me to do the same thing in National Bookstore.

Lunch was had at SuperBowl, and then I decided to get myself a back massage at Suriya. What does my husband do while I'm in the spa but take himself off to Makati Cinema Square to shop for books? ::dies:: Ai-ya, it's a good thing I decided to try out the Starbucks in Make Room (Glorietta) while waiting for him to rejoin me; nothing like a cappuccino and a honey glazed doughnut to soothe the spirits.

Worked happily with Documents To Go while I was waiting. Managed to finish Day 19 of my 1984 travel diary, and also to post all the data in the cash receipts into a new spreadsheet. All I need to do is to sync the Palm with the iBook tomorrow, and I can post up a new entry to the Wordpress blog.

Our last stop of the day was the Rustan's Supermarket, and I must say I was appalled at the quality of the galunggong on sale. Red-eyed, cloudy-eyed - things a fish should not have - and as limp as a wet noodle. Luckily I found some nice specimens deep in the ice, with clear eyes and of a goodly size. Picked up a few more groceries - including mustard for the schubligs - and then betook ourselves home.

Ma and I stayed up to watch the Dateline interview with Prince William and Prince Harry on Hallmark. I didn't get to hear too much of what the lads were saying, what with Ma's commentary all over the place, but what I did hear was interesting enough. I've bookmarked the Concert For Diana site, and will be going through it in the next few days.

Hubby has just reported that our huge stainless steel fan appears to have shorted out. Not a problem - it's shorted out before, but after having it fixed three time already, I think it's time for the thing to go to the Salesians so that we can bring down one of the other fans that's been sitting in storage for donkey's years now.

A good day. A bit weird in places, but all things considered, a good day.
