The cat came baaaack! ::dance of jubilation::
Or rather, he was brought back by Mang Ben, the bald driver of our doctor neighbor. Seems like Manong went to pick up Doc around 10PM last night, and on the way home, he caught sight of our little Mocha huddled under a tree, about five streets down from us. He appeared to be heading home, so Manong slowed down the car, surprising Doc.
Doc: Why are you slowing down?
Ben: There's something I'm checking out, sir.
When Manong recognized Mocha, he stopped the car, got out, and tried to pick up the cat. Seems that he cuddles Mocha every now and then, when he's not on call at the house. ::grin:: Mocha, tired and hungry after two days out, didn't recognize Manong at first, and tried to swat him.
Ben: Now, now, don't be like that! I'm taking you home!
So Manong gets Mocha into the car, and naturally, Doc wanted to know why the fuss over a cat.
Doc: Whose cat is that, anyway?
Ben: It's the Colonel's (referring to Dad the ex-Air Force man) cat. They've been looking all over for him and missis has been crying since he's been gone.
Doc: Oh, OK.
Ben: (to Mocha, now esconsed in the front passenger seat) Now you behave and sit quiet. We're going home. Here, (gives him a piece of pan de sal) have something to eat.
(AWWWWW.)
Doc started laughing because Mocha was just like a little child who sat down quietly and at his widdle snack.
(AWWWWW.)
So Manong and Doc arrive home, Manong tries to text Liza that he's got Mocha ("Because Colonel just might shoot me if he sees me moving around in the dark!" @__@). Liza, being a good girl and not expecting any calls, ignored the text. So Manong just picked Mocha from off the front seat (talk about service de luxe), popped him through the gate, and told him to "Go and sleep, and don't go out of the garage!" Which instructions, says Manong, Mocha followed to the hilt, trotting under the Innova and falling asleep.
This morning, I go to open the kitchen door and find Pressy at the window, asking to be let in. Latte was on the kitchen table, asking to be let out. So, I open the kitchen door, and as Latte goes out...Mocha comes in.
Mocha: I HAS FUD NOW PLZ.
Words cannot express. Truly. Then Ramon walked into the kitchen, and Mocha trotted up to him (IS IT I CAN HAS FUDZ *NOW* PLZ!!!) and Ramon was like to go into palpitations, scooping up the cat, and nearly breaking into tears over the baby.
(AWWWWW.)
Eventually Mocha got his turn at the kibble, and then wanted to go out to litter, like he always does. I told him to stay inside first, and use the indoor pan, because he had to wait for Ma to see him. So he did, and was back to another round of kibble when Liza opened her door.
Liz: WAAAAUGH. WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN! WHERE DID YOU COME FROM?
Cat: MMM. FUDZ GOOD.
(Notice that none of us ever said "welcome back" to the cat. It was all "Where have you BEEN! Oh, MOCHAAA...")
Then Ma woke up early today ::bounce:: and I carried Mocha over to her, and there was much rejoicing. Rejoicing, yea, even unto the fourth generation, I swear, and all through it, Mocha is like, I NID LITTOR PAN PLZ, I GO OUT NOW. ::laughs happily::
So all is forgiven, Mocha finally got to go out to do his bizness, and then came back in for more food and has been snoring away on the spare bed in the maid's room ever since. Oh, but God is SO very good!!
