Event of the Day: the monthly meeting of the WOMFI Board of Trustees, and a ramble around Greenbelt.
Well, the monthly meeting, was quite as usual; updates and brainstorming for our projects. My writing skill, apparently, is considered good enough for me to be the "go to" person for all manner of written material. No problem, I just have to figure out a cover letter and whatever goes into what I refer to as our "press kit". I know there's a term called "lookbook", but our material isn't so grand. "Project proposal" doesn't quite fit the bill either.
However it goes, it's something that meshes in with the kind of work I used to do in corporate communications, so that's nice.
After the meeting, I met up with Ramon at Greenbelt. He had arrived there while I was at the meeting, and ate a light lunch at Wendy's before going off to watch Columbiana. I managed to catch him at the popcorn stand, which disappointed him by not buttering his popcorn, woe the day! Myself, I went to Bonchon, was somewhat underwhelmed by the chicken meal. Maybe it was because I ate the honey-soy fillets. Perhaps the hot and spicy version is the one people seem to enjoy. Ramon and I are going to give the bulgogi item a go, at some future date.
So while Ramon was at the movies, I rambled over Greenbelt. Found the Samsung dealer and bought Tabbie a car charger, so that I don't need to worry any more about the mobile internet draining the battery dry. Then from there, a scalp massage at Going Straight, which was nice. Ended up in Wendy's for a potato and iced tea meal, where Ramon found me after the movies.
From Greenbelt, we went to Pet Express to pick up some stuff for the cats. Have been wondering ever since if maybe I should take out a subscription to a newspaper. See now, a friend on LJ uses newspaper as litter pan liner. I was going to try that, only the littlest kittens went and did their bizness on the paper before I could add litter, and have been using the paper with gusto ever since. As have some of the other cats who refuse to use litter after it's been used a little.
Now the only problem is that Ma uses newspaper in lieu of a mat under her chamber pot. (For the Pinoys among us, what we elegantly call an "orinola" (sp?)) So between Ma and the kittehs, we are now running out of newspaper very quickly. At least the kittens can get by on the old telephone books and various forms of scratch paper; but when the paper runs out, what are we to do? My convoluted calculations tell me that taking out a newspaper subscription will definitely cost less over time than buying lots of litter; it's environment-friendly; and makes a good extender for regular litter.
Naturally, since I got this idea in the dead of night, I have to think this over very carefully. *grin*
Got ourselves an Andok's chicken for dinner. Weather alternating between melting us and chilling us, what with sudden squalls blowing in and away before we know what's going on.
