*hears the rumble of distant thunder*
Forgot to mention yesterday that I got a mention from one of the fanfic sites about an unfinished work set in a Slam Dunk alt-universe. (Everyone's entitled to their own poison, yeah?) The person looks like he/she is willing to wait for a continuation of the story. Oh ye gods and little fishes...
The fic is set after Shohoku has come not-victorious back after the Inter-High. Because I love Kogure to bits, I gave him a sweetheart - his next-door neighbor, a *girl* (gasps of outrage from the MitKo fans) - and the two are friends who have kept their mutual liking secret from each other until Sachi gets pushed down the auditorium stairs by a particularly catty member of the Rukawa fangirl club.
*chuckle* How can a story sound nicer in the plot description than in its actual written form? Anyway...there's this girl who has the hots for our Kogure, who extracts himself from clingy fangirl just in time to see Sachi fall literally into Hasegawa's arms (the push, remember?). And the misunderstandings start from there.
Resolution comes thanks to Sakuragi (!!!). Sachi has gone off to her aunt's hot spring to earn money for the next school opening and hopefully recover from her breaking heart (ha!). I stopped the fic more or less there.
In the plot bunny that I sort of hatched for the continuation, Sakuragi proposes a team-building session in the general area of Sachi's aunty's onsen, and somehow contrives to strand Kogure at said aunty's onsen before making a getaway with the help of Mitsui, Rukawa, and Ryochin.
Well, of course hospitality must be offered, ne? And in the course of time, all is resolved to everyone's satisfaction, especially that of Sakuragi-tensai. :) :) :)
Heavens, I can't believe I actually put the plot out in the open after sitting on it for so long! As I said, the published sections stop just before Kogure is stranded. Life got very much in the way after that, taking away my writing mojo. :( I guess that now I have fewer (?) responsibilities on my shoulders, life is giving it back to me? I don't know. But I'm going to try. I love my characters to bits, even if they're not speaking to me right now.
So...I have to resolve how Kogure gets Sachi. And decide if I want to do an alt-lemon section of the resolution chapter. Because the story is pretty much rated G right now, and if I were to stick a lemon scene in there, it would be jarring. But then some folks might want to know...
Then I need to figure out how Kinume gets her comeuppance. Little clingy brat. Sachi should take her and that other little brat out for a good dust-up wtih the kendo sticks. I'm going to have to review that story and maybe one or two others that need finishing or continuing.
