Well, we continue to broil here in my section of the world. Other districts of the city have reported the incidence of cooling rain on a fairly regular basis; my house still bakes in desert heat...

Currently downloading footage from the Innova dashcam into the laptop. The Avanza download went much more quickly, as the car has been in the garage for the better part of a week...the car security system went bonkers, and its remote control is also feeling iffy. So it looks like I'll need to replace it tomorrow. Will be calling a car shop I found online this afternoon...

Yesterday was laundry day - two baskets of my dusters, and Dad's basket. Previously in the washing were pillows, mattress protectors, and an assortment of bed linens.

In between laundry loads, in the late afternoon, the PLDT service guy popped in to *finally* get cracking on a fiber connection that's been down for two weeks. He recruited the service folk of the Village to give him a hand with the replacement of the cable (now I know why PLDT has an ad out for licensed technicians, they sent only ONE service guy to me, when they used to come in pairs...IDEK). So I gave the tech some money to treat the Village gang. *shrug* It's always good to be nice to people, especially if you have to ask them to work just as they are going off-shift.

So all things considered, things are going well. The roof is clean (and the neighbors are looking to their own roof, which is good, since the last time I noticed anything there, a plant was actually growing out of their gutter...!!); the second fiber conection is online, laundry is complete as of this writing. And that's not even the half of what's been going on around here. *grin*

Another thing to add to the accomplishments: signed and paid for a contract with my termite control agency, to deal with the roach infestation in the kitchen. Yes, I hang my head in shame to admit that we have been waging war with roaches for a very long time, and now we have dealt very firmly with them. I am a "live and let live" sort of person for about 99% of living things, but roaches fall in the 1% that do not, nor will they ever, get my sympathy (unless they stay out of doors where they belong...)

We have had a major spring clean of the kitchen cabinets as a result of said roach elimination, and set aside a goodly number of things for the next village disposal day. Mama was right: it does no good to leave things in cabinets alone, they must be cleaned on a regular basis.

I am beginning to wonder if I shouldn't rearrange the layout in the office as a result of all the cleaning that has been taking place. Already I can see that I need to restock the Friskies that the kitties love. And rearrange the shelves while I'm at it. Well, I'll try to figure out what goes where, one section at a time. Because, HOT!

I am all for roaches and termites staying far, far away from my abode. I wish you the very best with this. I've had my own battles with roaches living in my apartment complex coming from other people's rooms.

Shudders. Kick butt!
