(Written before lunch at Pancake House Glorietta)
So I'm sitting here in Pancake House, waiting for my steak lunch. Thought i'd treat myself, seeing as how i am running on low batt these days. Not much of a slow Saturday...
* did laundry
* fussed over the kittens, who have caught a bug; but at least they are eating and drinking. :( My poor babies.
* dropped of a bunch of stuff at Santuario
* got money to deal with next week's expenses
And here i am. Not sure you'll get a pic of the steak, it's going so fast. :)
Been watching the Democratic convention and its fallout. Trump is proof that in America, anyone can be President - the stuff that comes out of his mouth is amazing. And not in a good way. He makes our President look really good by comparison, and i'm talking about someone who inspires extrajudicial killings.
To be fair, our President has credentials. A law school graduate (oh, his college is SO proud, unlike Wharton of Trump at one point, if that story is true). Passed the Bar. Was a councilman, a congressman, a mayor for umpteen years. A hands -on guy who could get things done, made his city a clean, disciplined area. His methods are questionable - but our responsibility as citizens is to keep him right; and if wrong, to make him do right. And so there is a determined effort to do that, but man, the Kool-Aid is strong in these here parts.
(Never underestimate the lengths some supporters will go to support their man or woman. The phrase "run out of town" is having a revival in cyberspace here.)
Trump...I haven't heard or read much to recommend him. Make Mexico pay for that wall? A likely story. China would sooner cede its claims over the South China aka West Philippine Sea. Which is why were talking things over with them, or will be soon. We'd better, because they are bigger than we are. And the climate in America is such that one wonders how soon it would come to our aid.
After all, every country puts its own self interest first, especially if it involves the sacrifice of its military.
We live in interesting times. Hillary looks to be an adequate person for the job, if the voters keep their eyes open and hold her accountable for things. I mean, if the only choice is beween her and Trump...I prefer Hillary. And America is overdue for a female President. We had two. 😊😊😊
Anyway, steak is almost gone, there was a brief power outage a few moments ago. Time to sign off.
