I have finished making sense of the chaos that was the office space. Surprisingly, I didn't throw much away. But the church charity box has a bag due them that is growing fat, and the handyman is going home with stuff to furnish his family's new house. The room is breathing nicely. My work desk is getting a makeover, and when it comes back, there will be a lot of rearranging again, and hopefully, much more usage of the room, as office and art space.
I need to look for shelving, to make the back wall look decent.
Elections are over, but the controversies are not. We have, for better or worse in the next six years, a new President, who badly needs lessons in tact and diplomacy. It would be nice if his quotable quotes were minus the profanity. I didn't vote for the man, but he has some good ideas, and even with an implementation timeline that sounds impossible without declaring martial law, the good ideas are worth looking at. So I am giving him a chance...heck, it's the thing to do.
Funny thing, it seems that some of those most vocal about supporting the man, were the first to complain when he announced particular rules. Go figure.
Apparently there is something questionable about the vote counting machines going on. Eh? For the scandalous amount of money they made off the government, we couldn't get ONE election without problems in that area?
I engaged a housemaid two days ago, to help out with Ma. She is sort of a junior housemaid/caregiver, and so far, she and Ma are hitting it off well. Ma's recent small stroke has weakened her legs considerably, but she refuses to use a wheelchair. Having someone else deal with her nightly changes when she soils herself is a blessing...I am sleeping better now, and more alert. Being less tired is a good thing.
Ma is doing ok. Still talkative, still asking for Ramon, still inquiring after her dead family members. But still in the present to have interesting views about the news, so it's all good. Plus, she still knows who I am! She no longer joins us at the table, she finds it too hard to walk.
Dad has discovered the joys of afternoon showers and cold water.
A classmate from HS got in touch, and as a result, I am now on Viber. So I'll be tinkering with that a while. :)
