Gosh, but i am tired. Who could have thought sitting in doctors' waiting rooms could be so tiring?

Brought Dad to Makati Med today, for checkups after his diverticulitis episode. First, Dr. Gatmaitan, who checked Dad's BP and genersl signs, and pronounced himself satisfied with what he found.

While waiting, i made friends with this nice senior citizen who also happened to be some sort of cousin to the good doctor. The conversation began with a few comments about the horrific traffic (advertised on my FB timeline) and escalated from there. He was 82, with a fund of stories to tell; studied Public Administration at UP Manila -my alma mater!- on a grant from the Philippine Constabulary. He had also been in the Army, and was something of a sportsman.

He was a delight to talk to. We shared the same opinion about UP thinking of having a bonfire to celebrate its second game victory in the collegiate basketball series. Listening to his analysis of why our traffic is the hell that it is was fascinating. Turns out his kids, before migrating, lived a street down from us, which was interesting.

Then after seeing Dr Gatmaitan, Dad and i had lunch at Floating. Next stop was Dr Leelin's office, which is in the same hallway as Dr Aragon, my endocrinologist. Dr Aragon's secretary saw me and asked if i was waiting for Dr A, so i explained.

At Dr Leelin's, he asked Dad some questions, then asked me some more things that are best left undescribed, for the sake of stomachs.  Turns out the diverticulitis bleeding was caused by the aspirin he was taking for his heart. Who knew? So he's off that for now. Some other meds were adjusted, so all should be well for now.

That done, dad and I had a little afternoon tea before going home. It started raining as we we're going home, and now it's going like it means business. The traffic does not bear thinking about, given what's happened the past two days.

So. Today Dad learned what valet parking was all about, and I am bushed, with things to do tomorrow. But that's another day, and i have a cat to medicate.
