Received bad news tonight. Dad's only surviving brother (out of a family of nine boys) was informed today that he has cancer. Doctors have done a biopsy but not sure yet how to proceed. I have no idea how bad the cancer is, whether it's the spreading kind or if it's all confined to one place. I hope the latter; then the doctors can get it in one go.
I'll tell Dad in the morning. I have told Ramon that he will be the man of the house if Dad wants to go to Cebu, where Tito Joe is confined, because after all, one does not let a man of 91 run around loose in such an upsetting situation. If Dad won't go, fine, but one must be prepared for anything. Especially since there are meds to organize and things.
Though given Ma's state of mind, I doubt I can go. But dad needs a traveling companion...I have an idea about that. We'll see. That's why it's called a contingency plan.
In the meantime prayers, in whatever shape or form, are earnestly requested. I believe in a merciful God who hears all requests, and answers them, even if we don't agree on the outcome. Please pray for the doctors, for Tito Joe, for Tita Belen, who is distraught and who would not be? For the family - immediate and extended, for strength and civil tongues as we get through this. You will be gratefully remembered.
