Looks like it could be cloudy with a chance of rain today. Half of me is hoping the rain will hold off until the new concrete section of the fence dries; the other half is hoping that in the event of rain, the concrete has set enough to get by. It is hot but not unbearably so; still, it is the first of June and the rains are due, at least in the provinces.

Was at The Fort yesterday, that former military base which was known as Fort William McKinley before it became Fort Andres Bonifacio, now redeveloped into the Bonifacio Global City. More Buildings are going up. Which is awesome, given the big name developers involved. But...where are the trees? My childhood memories of flame trees in bloom - and egads, those were glorious to behold - and shady acacias at the clubhouse are just that. Because most of the trees are gone now. Hubby says it's progress, but he was born a city rat. I, for all my love of a good mall, am a country girl at heart. Life isn't the same without trees and flowering plants in it.

Anyway, was at Fort. Discovered the free senior citizen parking and we went to get Ramon a new charger for his vintage Sony Ericsson. Then lunch at Italianni's, then a too short stop at Fully Booked (just the ground floor and basement). Next time I go there, I go alone. I love and adore my husband, but having him bored in the one place I want to linger in, just will not do. In an ideal world, Fully Booked would be my bolthole from everyday cares. But till then...I take what I am given, and remember to be grateful.

I saw two shirts that I fell in love with. One was a Keep Calm And... shirt for Downton Abbey. The other had a cover design for The Hound of the Baskervilles. Beautiful things, but 999. 00 for a t-shirt is too much.

Then it was off to S&R for cat litter and things. Spent a nice time there, although towards the end I got a headache from the noise of the crowd. School term starts June 2 for public schools and mothers are stocking up on the ingredients for packed lunches.

Arrived home to heat and more heat. Which reminds me I should pay the electric bill.

Today I go to Cash and Carry for the rest of the groceries, and Pet Express for wet food for the cats.

Wehehe, free parking. I wonder how good senior citizen perks will be by the time I get there.
