Fresh out of the bath and enjoying morning coffee. A nice calm start to the day.
Coaxed Ma out for that trip to Tagaytay that she's been wanting. She balked at the front door, but eventually enjoyed it. *grin*
The fact that a) I had a good night's sleep the night before, and b) I got some swag out of the trip helped A LOT. Nothing like driving when one is in the mood. Now, about that trip to a beach...*grin*
Traffic was light, even for a national holiday. (Again. I swear, this country has any number of holidays. Between these and the typhoons, it is a wonder our kids grow up literate, really.)
Gourmet Cafe was a delight, as usual. I could have done without the feature segment on Kris Aquino's show that was playing on their tv; but the sound was mercifully off and I was spared her godawful accent. As, in. There may be those who find it charming, but as far as my ears are concerned, it's nails on a blackboard to me.
We had soup (Ma = minestrone, me = mushroom), salad (a concoction of tomato, pesto, goat cheese...I am getting hungry now), pork scallopine, and fish and chips. Coffee and pie for after. The waiter gave us blueberry pie instead of apple, no worries. *grin* As it turned out, Dad ate about half, and left me short; so I ordered an apple pie to fill the gaps.
Went to the shop and loaded up on goodies. Soaps, coffee (obviously), tonic drinks.
Then off to our lookout point at Splendido; the wind was glorious. Tagaytay is progressing, the tall buildings of Cityland, Robinson's, and SM changed the landscape. I just hope those are the only tall buildings allowed. The Ayala project is a cluster of small buildings, the highest is 7 stories. Much better, I think.
There is a Starbucks beside Discovery Hotel. It must be larger than the branch further along the ridge; at least to judge by the sign. I am not about to drive a car down their insanely steep driveway and find out!
On our way back, we stopped at the Shell station for rest rooms and Jollibee. Getting home was a breeze with no traffic on the Skyway.
So now I get a day of rest before getting busy with the outside world. Life's good.

I do hate when she guested in the Riza Mae show, and made yabang that her son has all sorts of gaming consoles.

re the Raizza Mae show: OH NO SHE DIDN'T? *facepalm" Though some might point out that those gaming consoles could be a sign of maternal guilt over a messy breakup; but that was a singularly tactless remark to make.
