Pixie's still not back. :(
I took a walk around the block just before lunch to see if I could spot her. Got hijacked by Darklette's plaintive mewing when I got to Dr. C's house; apparently she had seen me go. Poor baby - I came back and popped her inside for a snack, then high-tailed it out of the house and into the next street while she was distracted.
No sign of the little kitty. *sigh* Though to be expected, since it was lunch, and all the cats are undercover, mostly. Maybe tonight she'll come out.
In the meantime, I was able to speak to the gardener of the house behind us, and he promised to keep a lookout.
The walk was good for me; worked off nervous energy and got to take long lingering looks at house fronts, like a tourist.
When I got home, Pixie's brother Pixel, curled up in my lap when I burst into tears again over his missing sister. He was so cute, curling and uncurling himself, climbing up onto my chest and touching noses with me. He's an absolute doll, like his sister.
So life goes on, and maybe a miracle will happen, and my baby will come home and stay, like her siblings. If not, then maybe some kind person will take care of her, she's an affectionate little thing.
