*sigh* Dad was in a bad mood this morning and bawled out the maid and overall, did what we in the Philippines call "Kalat ng Lagim" - in other words, literally, "Scattered (as in sowed) shadows/darkness". Very apt. When Dad has one of his moods, he sows far and wide with the shadows. I wish I could say it was a function of advancing age (he's gonna be 90 on Sunday, glory be to God), but it's not. He's always done that at regular intervals, as far back as I remember.
Not to put too fine a point on it, but apparently the maid had had enough; Dad showed her his gun (!!!!), and I don't even know what to do with that, except give the poor woman her freedom. Actually, the past three or four househelp have seen that gun, and naturally all of them have fled post-haste. So have made arrangements for a replacement.
I had myself a good cry over breakfast (chorizos seasoned in tears isn't half bad, really) - and Ramon saw the tears and asked why, poor man. I told him I was just venting, he was just to let me be. Later when I had calmed down, he gave me a hug and was very attentive. Dear, sweet man.
But other than that, all's well. The cats are ok, I managed to replace my bidet hose and nozzle without too much fuss, I have no idea anymore what I was going to write about past events before today. Life will be quite as usual soon.
Tomorrow will be busy though: Ma's PT will come; the maintenance crew will come to check the water tank for cleaning, et al; the new maid will probably come. Oh, there is a new convection oven/turbo broiler in the house! I can cook stuff to my liking again! So there...life's not so bad.

i'm dealing with aging relatives, too, and i can appreciate how difficult it can be. minsan nakakahawa yung paghahasik nila ng lagim, napapataas na rin ang boses ko. plus, they can get SO unreasonable. but it passes, and we're still alive, and we still love each other in the end.

Sounds to me like you needed to have a good cry, that's a lot of stress to be under.
