So apparently while I wasn't looking, Pinguy OS updated my desktop to a new version of Gnome and thus upset the natural order of things. After a few moments of panic, I hit the Help button on the new interface and found the answers to a host of questions. So all's well now.
Ramon was channel surfing and found a movie called "One Country Under God" - and the particular sequence showed how dogs were put down by carbon monoxide poisoning. To say that I was deeply upset is the understatement of the year - I was bawling! You can hear the panicked cries of the dogs as they die and...it was beyond upsetting. Ramon could not change channels fast enough while I was having a breakdown.
He has since applied the tried and tested treatment of offering me snack food and a soda in an effort to restore my equilibrium. It is working. But I never want to see that again. And I will sign any and all petitions to outlaw that kind of thing.
In other news: my body is proudly declaring its womanhood. Complete with backache, headache, feeling blue and irrational as my hormones run amok, as well as like a leaky faucet on a slow drip. *sigh* Ah, well.
Fortunately all will be well by tomorrow. Half the day is gone, just need to hang in there.
