(no subject)

Hi all. In about 15 minutes or so, we will have begun the second half of the year. Again, it seems strange that six months have elapsed in such a summary fashion, and now that July is upon us, watch the time speed up as people begin to sing Christmas carols by mid-month.

Anyway, come midnight I will empty my Google trash bin. The cleaning up of my life continues. Santuario de San Antonio's Caritas box has been a regular recipient of stuff. I don't wait until I've got a respectable looking lot to give; the moment I can fill up two plastic shopping bags, away they go! It's gotten to the point where I am now actually looking for stuff to let go...which reminds me that there are leather shoes that are prime candidates. They pinch my feet abominally when I wear them - time to set them free to a good home. Let's see - two pairs, at least. And those espadrilles that are starting to come loose. And the Hush Puppies that are also starting to come loose.

Some folks would ask, why not repair them? Well, yeah, I could. But I have more comfortable shoes that I could be wearing, so why not let go of stuff that could benefit someone else?

I need to clean out the office a little. Which means I ought to sacrifice an afternoon nap to do this. No problem, really, I can sneak in a power nap before dinner. Not to mention that I have a long morning nap (assuming I don't need to be out of the house) after the cats' breakfast rush is over. So there's that.

Let's see. It's been all right, this first half of 2013. My financials are improving, and if I read my bills correctly, I should have two credit card loans paid off by the time the year ends. Which takes a huge weight off my shoulders. We live and breathe, still.

Ma continues well. A little fuzzy when it comes to some things, but still taking an active part in family life. I try not to be frustrated when she refuses to use the wheelchair or walker to get around; or her insistence on fresh air when she does go out. The nearest fresh air is an hour's drive away, and I feel my age when driving us all up there. But I'll manage, until it comes the time to hire a car and driver for the day. *smile*

Ramon continues well. Except for the episode where he - thank God! - was given permission to walk out of the emergency room after almost six hours of rest, a miracle of grace if ever there was one - he has given his cardio reason to smile. I make him rest as much as possible between days out, and so far, so good.

The cats are fine. Our Budi who had the constipation? She's her old self again, though too thin still. Pattering down to the kitchen for meals, then pattering up to the bathroom for the Fancy Feast she loves. She's good at nesting under the bathroom cabinet, then coming out when you sit on the toilet to ask for food. She has assumed her role as alpha female of the house, warning off all the other cats who come too close or who try to tease her. I'll be taking her to the vet next week for more subcutaneous fluids - she's still lacks hydration though she drinks a lot.

Walker is eating like a champion, the little darling. This is the one who had the gum infection. I hope she gains some weight, because she's also too thin for our liking. However, she runs and climbs up the trees with the abandon of a kitten, so it's all good.

We have been adopted by a grey and white cat that looks like he could be a cousin of Walker's offspring. We have named him Miko, to go with Mochi, the grey cat that adopted us earlier this year. Miko is a sweetie, and with a collar around his neck that shows he must have belonged to a family at some point. Like Mochi, he wolfs down the wet food like he's never seen it before, and goes through the kibble like a locust. Woot! Oh, and he has allowed us to pet him. This is a certain sign that like the rest, he will be spoiled rotten. *grin*

The Avanza registration and Ramon's driver's license have been renewed. The latter was a felicitous event, since the powers that be removed the drug testing requirement, thus saving us a small boodle of money. Good until 2016, yay!

That was about it, aside from the change of maids which I mentioned in a previous post. Not much interesting about cleaning litter pans and regular runs to the grocery and to the bank for paying bills, so I'll leave that out. Should be interesting to see how long it takes until I post again. *grin*

This is a good update, it has an aura of contentment about it.

And yes, the year is half over, I suppose now would be a good time to get busy with my own decluttering as it were.

Much love to you and your family, including the furry ones.
