So...in the light of the tie series between the Heat and the Spurs, I read this comment from a (sometime) friend on Facebook:
"This is one of the reasons I don't like the Heat, great team as they are. A lot of Heat fans don't know the meaning of "Humble in victory, gracious in defeat."
So he's willing to hold the conduct of the team's fans against the team, though he admits they're good? To my way of thinking it doesn't seem right - a team should be liked because of their ability. What their fans do should be held against the fans, not the team, right? Or something. Given that when the Spurs demolished the Heat in Game 4, he was gloating, I don't think he has the high ground.
I am, admittedly, a Heat fan. I am also loud in my declarations that they are a very hard team for me to love, because of the way they play. I am refusing to watch Game 7 because my heart cannot take the idea of seeing them make a good start and then collapse in the later half of the game, or see them coming back from a 18-point trail to make it a ding-dong fight to the end. As they did today.
So hopefully when Game 7 comes around, I will be hoping the Heat win; but if not, the Spurs will (hopefully) have earned their championship. Then everyone can all get over this year and look forward to next year. :)

Well, we all know how THAT ended...everyone is giddy with the victory. Now we all know what happens next - a try for a three-peat next year! *dances*
In the meantime, I am holding off checking Facebook for friend's reaction. This is the man, who, when the Heat won Game 4 after being steamrollered in Game 3, said that one gets more bragging rights from a 30pt lead than from a smaller lead. I simply said, "That was yesterday. Today is what matters. Besides, they win the game, but can they win the championship?"
So now, I am positively GLOATING, with matching cackling laughter, now that I know my boys won. However, the Spurs were a grand opponent, and made the guys work for their back-to-back. Gotta hand it to the Heat, they were so close in 2011, won in 2012, won again in 2013. So, yeah.
Anyway, everyone will get over it...tomorrow. As they should. Now if the UP Maroons could win this year's UAAP... *grin*
