So I did manage to survive the holidays, and spent most of January tidying up various aspects of my life, hence the relative silence on the journaling front. Let's face it, sometimes one has to back off from the online stuff to get things done.

Anyway, it's February, and our gem of a cook is planning to get married in April. Ah, well. Future husband is a seaman; Ma has been asked to be a principal sponsor - which translates to me being ninang by proxy. So it is highly possible that a trip to Marinduque is in our future. *blink*

Fortunately, there will be lead time to audition a new cook, for which I am grateful.

Got a pair of dividends that will just cover the expenses of the holidays, and for that I am VERY grateful. So far, have paid off the mobile phones, the cable TV and internet, the huge-ass credit card bill that I was fussing about. I got the reimbursement for the advance I made on the grocery budget, for which I am grateful in the extreme. The way it's going, a diet of bread and water will be worth it. It's almost Lent, anyway. *g*

I had to get myself a new phone, as the Galaxy Pocket was running out of battery life too quickly for my liking. It is now relegated to being an emergency unit. The new phone is a my|phone - Android - the twin of Ramon's. The beauty of it is, it cost about the same as the Galaxy Pocket, it was on sale for Christmas. *g* It's all dressed up now, with custom tones, and it's a cutie.

Got myself sunk into a new fandom. It's for a local daytime series called "Be Careful With My Heart". Basic plot - girl enters troubled family as nanny for the youngest child, and brings light and love to the house, especially the ferocious father. But as series go, it's so much fun to watch something where the burning question is when the dad will FINALLY admit that he's in love with the nanny. There's no intrigue, shouting, slapping, pulling of hair...just good old-fashioned romance. The fans are fun; the new teaser comes out and we're all over the moon cheering the two leads on.

I found this new place at Glorietta that does body therapy using a method from Japan. I haven't been to the bonesetter in ages, and my body was feeling it. I will swear by this place - the manipulations were simple but felt SOOOO GOOD. Turned out one of my legs was shorter than the other; I had an inkling that it would be like that, and the spinal manips fixed that. Also fixed was the nagging lower back pain that may have contributed to my absolute misery of last year, and the tightness in my chest that made me think maybe I was a candidate for a heart attack. All better now! (But I still should schedule that doctor's checkup. Go procrastination...)

Am thinking if I visit these guys once a month this year, I will have a more healthy outlook on things. Baby steps, baby steps.

The calendar planner I got over the holidays, is helping me keep my schedules tidy. Showed January to Ma and she was amazed at the things I managed to get involved in. Let's see what February will look like. The week of February 10 - 16 is interesting:

February 10 - Lunar New Year (will pass on the tikoy, though, never acquired the taste)
February 11 - Feast of Our Lady of Lourdes (should try and go to Mass, or at least the Blessed Sacrament, as she is a sort of patron of our family)
February 12 - Shrove Tuesday aka New Orleans Mardi Gras aka Carnavale de Rio
February 13 - Ash Wednesday (wonder if the churches will be full, usually they are but in light of recent events, who knows)
February 14 - St. Valentine's Day aka Everyone Needs Love Day (at least in my book)
February 15 - PAYDAY ('nuff said)
February 16 - Splurge on the clearances at the malls Saturday

Then everything is all doldrums till Easter Week. *g*

Life has been good, and I am feeling more and more recovered as the days go by. This is something to be truly grateful for.

It's good and I'm happy for you.

Much love.

Really nice to "hear" you so upbeat.

Speaking of planners, there's a new one called Go Getter Planner. http://www.facebook.com/GoGetterPlanner?ref=ts&fref=ts
Im too broke right now to get it but it has a great concept of making goals yourself. Im just applying it to a cheap organizer I got last year.

Oooh, shiny thing! *grabbity hands*

Maybe next year I'll get one of those. But for now, nothing beats the smell of a brand new notebook. *g*

Love to all the kittehs!
