Oh my goodness, what a time I have had of it these two days past.
1) First, my desktop keyboard went and had a hissy fit. This was terribly inconvenient for me, as I new do most of my online things on the desktop.
2) And then the netbook which runs on Windows? Well, the Windows finally crashed and wouldn't come back up for love or money. Truly a fatal error. The thing is, I kept the netbook running on Windows (XP) mainly for the sake of the scanner.
So I had this dilemma, buy a Linux-friendly scanner, or get a copy of Windows 7 Starter Edition? Upon comparing prices, it turned out that Windows 7 Starter Edition costs less than a printer. *shrug* And on further consideration, there's always a peripheral that can only run on Windows, and with my luck, I will end up using it.
3) Today I got my quarterly dividend check - which was earmarked for the paying of bills and the getting of a new keyboard and abovementioned Windows. I went for a Bluetooth keyboard, and am now happily using it on Tabbie.
4) Why am I using it on Tabbie? Well, the keyboard set up like a charm on the desktop. But then the desktop's speed is down - as in eyebrow-raising way down. Was not about to grow any more white hairs trying to troubleshoot the problem at night, so here I am.
5) In any case, the Bluetooth keyboard is a thing of beauty, and if I ever get to a larger tablet...well! Just takes a little getting used to. :)
Otherwise, we've had everything and nothing going on here at home. All is calm at the moment, and I am very grateful. :)
