First day at home without anything more strenuous to do than sleep, do laundry, and watch TV. I could get used to this. :)
1) Woke up and fed the cats, as usual. Qbie strolled home at around six, ate some kibble, sat still while I gave his vitamins, and left after a short nap. Followed by me having a nap of my own - woke up at nine in the morning.
2) Looked at the water filter, changed two of the filters. The housing of the dirtiest one couldn't be budged, so I have to call WaterCare tomorrow.
3) Remembered I have to call Pest-Away for the renewal of our termite control contract.
4) Decided to make a list of dates to remember: follow-up checkups for Dad and Ramon (October 12) and Ma (to be determined, as she has to have a blood extraction prior to this). Collect refund from the hospital for Mom's overpayment (October 9).
5) After lunch, made coffee (bliss!) and started laundry. Eight pillows and Ma's sheets from last night.
6) While doing the laundry, had a marathon session of Law and Order: Criminal Intent. :) It's as though I made up for all the times I never got to watch TV.
7) Qbie checked in again around four this afternoon, while I was cleaning the litter pans. This time he ate kibble and we had a bonding session when I finished cleaning up. Again with the nap, and then off to see his missus.
8) Pebbles also checked in around eight this evening; he demolished some kibble and an entire Whiskas pouch, so this comforts me.
9) Ma is improving. Her memory is a little bit worse than it was before she was confined; but as long as she still remembers me, it will be all right. She is now sitting with us at the table for lunch and dinner, as before. This is a very good thing.
10) Ramon is also improving. After yesterday, he consented to come down for lunch and dinner; and he even showed flashes of his sense of humor. This is also a very good thing.
I owe everyone many many many thanks for all the love and good vibes/prayers/well-wishes that were sent my way. As well as condolences over the passing of our little Whiskey. Your support is appreciated more than you will ever know.
