It was somewhat manic, and definitely Monday - and it turns out that the warm weather all day was just a run-up to thunderstorms and more rain tonight. Ah, well.
1) Qbie came home today. \o/ His cold is a little bit better, but he was still feeling under the weather. Poor babycat couldn't understand what was wrong with him, but took his medicines and vitamins without complaining. And ate like a champion. Saw him at his "married" digs ::grin:: when we came home from the grocery; he miaowed and came for petting, but didn't want to come home for dinner. Ah, well. At least he sounded better.
I hope he's safe in the neighbor's garage with his missus and kid. Probably. ::grin::
2) Went to the hospital this morning for Dad's follow-up checkup. Got the xray results, and all's well - the shadow on his left lung has all but disappeared. Dr. Cesario was very pleased by this, and assigned two medicines for Dad to take. No need to come back unless the cough does. So yay, that's one problem out of the way.
3) Ramon has a toothache, and will be visiting the barangay dentist tomorrow. Actually, he had the toothache since Thursday, but has been resisting my pleas to visit the dentist. Thus, he has been self-medicating with little success and now is possibly in worse shape than Whiskey. ::exasperated sigh:: Today I put my foot down and so we will go to the dentist.
4) The workers have removed the toilet from the master bath, and as often happens, the scope of work is expanding. They removed the toilet, and discovered that some of the pipes are heavily rusted and will thus need to be replaced. I then asked about the feasibility of raising the floor of the bathtub so that Ma would have an easier time of it. This will be discussed in later depth tomorrow. (In between getting Ramon to the dentist.)
5) Whiskey is still toddling about the house. Her progress will be slow, but there is progress, and the poor little mite is holding her own. No grudges about being forced to take her medicines, she's going to be fine, eventually.
Did I tell you her carrier is by the side of the bed, and that after all the struggles with her medicines, that's where she goes to rest up? Yup.
6) Went to the grocery to get more bread, sandwich spread and coffee for the workers. While there, I saw the ham stands and freaking realized that I need to order the Christmas ham. Also, taking note of the Christmas baskets and planning who gets what. I really think this will be the most pruned down list ever.
I also bought my comfort food - cans of Campbell soup. They make great merienda. My ultimate comfort food is one can of Campbell food, and maybe a cup of rice to go in it. Add a little wansoy or garlic, depending on the soup, and there you go. Currently in my kitchen cabinet I have about four variants, of which I can only remember Cheddar Cheese. Eh.
7) That about covers today. Tomorrow, aside from the workers and Ramon's dentistry, I have to pay off my credit card charges. See, after the fracas of recent months, I decided to just phone pay the charges as they come in. It works, I do think I've saved money treating my credit card as a sort of portable wallet, and replenishing within a day or two after I spend for things. Less headaches, too.
Now, to enjoy a midnight snack. :)
