My cousin's wife flew in from the States, managing a safe and smooth flight despite the stormy weather, which was all good. I like her, she's organized and knows how to go about things. She was in the country to visit her mama and do some banking stuff for my cousin - so I took her to the bank and we managed to catch up a little bit on each other. She took an early retirement package (at least I hope it was a voluntary retirement and not one of those "retire or we fire" deals) and is relishing life at home before looking a part-time jobs. My neice is now a lovely 21yr-old and working as a medical assistant; also has a boyfriend, which is not bad for this day and age.

Having done my good deed as a relative, the maintenance crew came by to fix up some screen panels with our leftover screen material, as per Dad's instructions. They also did some tweaking with our constantly-derailing screen door (according to Mang 'Ciso, the tracks have misaligned what with the house settling and all) and helped me move the furniture in the office space around. Yay! The computer workspace is now in a better place, the coffee table that I never knew what to do with is my computer seat (much to the delight of the cats, who now share it with me), and the place looks a little bit more like a warehouse than it used to. *wry chuckle* You can't have everything, anyway.

In other news: did laundry. Have fresh linens on the bed as a result, and this is good, considering that I am fast succumbing to that cold bug.
