The other night I had a vivid dream that Mocha came home. That he showed up at the house gate, just the way I remember him the day he got lost.

It's been six months. God, I miss him so; and Ma isn't getting over his loss at all. Wherever he is I hope he's well and happy.

I'm sorry about your kitty cat. I know you and your family loved him very much. I hope he's well and happy too.

I suspect this may have been him coming back to tell you just that; you may never know what happened to him, but he is in good hands. I'm sure Saint Francis has his angels that watch over the animals.

I am certain that he has been led to a good home, where someone is loving him the way all wee creatures should be loved and cared for. In my heart of hearts, I know this.

It's just that at least once every day, Ma declares how she cannot forget Mocha and asks me why I threw him away. :( In which case I just swallow the tears and remind myself that she is 88, and the older folks sometimes get stuck on a notion. One learns to be patient and deal.
