Fwd: Thursday, 01-September-2011 :: Event/s of the Day & Twitter Log
Event of the Day: Stayed offline long enough to sort and count the coins that have been accumulating in my coin bank (an empty tin of gingerbread bought in Munich, contents gone before we arrived at Frankfurt). On Monday, I am going to give a bank teller a bit of a bother when I go to deposit the money in my savings account.
I got a huge credit card bill in the mail that I was planning to pay off partially. In a foggy moment, I paid off the whole thing, and while I am now spared the spectre of finance charges on late payments? I now have quite the bare minimum to live on till October. As I wrote earlier, I am taking this as a good sign, and may even buy a lotto ticket, just for the fun of it. One never knows, after all...*grin*
No nap - I've had quite a few of those. Filed papers, which made me feel righteous about keeping the backlog down to zero. Threw other papers, which made the workspace feel lighter. Played around with Tabbie (hubby is saying I am totally getting bang for the buck out of it, seeing as how it rarely leaves my hands) and found a new game to love after Angry Birds. *chuckle* It's called Flight Control, and while my record as an air traffic controller is dismal, I expect to have hours of fun in waiting rooms with this one.

Curious though, what app do you use to read ebooks? All mine are in pdf which the kobo app doesn't seem to recognise so I DLed adobe and have docs to go. Finding it's looking better to read landscape rather than portrait as the print is bigger.

Landscape is definitely better than portrait for some kinds of text. Sometimes if you zoom on a page while in portrait mode, stuff goes offscreen, and you have to scroll over - quite inconvenient.
I trust that in your area of the world, the weather is following normal patterns? That is to say, no major disasters? The Philippines is drying out from the effects of two typhoons that went to Taiwan and Japan; crop outlook for next year is not very good.

It works fine on my daughter's laptop which is windows 7 which is fine for now but I need to get it sorted on mine as she is moving out in a few months. Can't get the bluetooth working on the laptop either so sort that out hopefully while I'm at it - will make life a lot easier for transferring books.
Weather is wacky here. We had snow a couple of weeks ago, inches of it, first time apparently since the 1930s. And now we have spring. We had our share of major disasters already this year with the Christchurch earthquake. *crosses fingers that's it for a while*
