Fwd: 2011-05-July :: Event/s of the Day & Twitter Log
Event of the day: the last day of the workers for the roofing project; genset serviced, Ramon got his senior benefit card back. And with that, the major projects for the month, if not for the whole year altogether, have seen closure. We have a refurbished roof with new gutters where needed, and a new roof for the lanai that lets in more light and will be more efficient in shedding water than the old one ever was. Ramon got his senior card back, and with it, his 20% discount on various and sundry services. We have to go back on Friday for the other things like his health card and booklets for free movies, discounted medicines, and discounted groceries, but at least the most important card is with us now.
Am waffling over whether to get a new Laking National card when I just paid for the renewal of the old card last April. *wrinkles nose* On one hand, I hardly go into National. On the other, when I do go to National, I spend quite a lot. Well, will cross the bridge when I get there, I suppose.
Spent quite a bit of time on the computer with Tabbie in front of me - she keeps me organized, because now that my focus has relaxed from replacing my lost stuff, I remember things to do and places to be and what all. All of which goes into Tabbie, and if she's set on wifi and sync mode, I can enter stuff into Google and watch it flow into Tabbie like magic. Woot!
I also had a good time with the bank and re-arranged my debts so that I can pay them off in installments. Interest just a fraction less than 1%, but small payments over several months are more manageable than worrying about how to pay down a big balance in full. Thing is, I should never let the balances get that big in the first place. Hard lessons in financial management, but it's all to the good. Apparently I get two dividends this month, and that should set me back on the road to recovery, by God's grace. Woot!
