Event of the Day: Basically, Ma's physical therapy session and a run
to Cash and Carry for kitty supplies. The punchline: I totally forgot
the car I was driving was not supposed to be out, under the color-coding
scheme. *insert major headdesking here*
I got caught by a traffic aide at the corner of Buendia and Filmore,
just one corner from Cash and Carry. Ramon kept a discreet silence, and
the traffic aide must have gotten a kick about my totally, totally, in
sum, TOTALLY CLUELESS face when I rolled down the window. Then when
realization broke, I was all, OH NOES, WOE! AM SO SORRY...I could see he
was having a gas. Gave him my license, like a good citizen; he asked
where I was headed and I told him. He said I would have to pick up the
license on Friday and when my face fell into the road, he asked if I
could make it on Friday. I told him my schedule wasn't all that
free...and looked resigned to my fate.
WELL DAMN IF HE DIDN'T GIVE MY LICENSE BACK, Y'ALL. He didn't ask for
money, he didn't write me a ticket (though he did show me the huge
collection of licenses he'd gathered before I came along), he gave me
back my license and even told me how to get home without running into
other traffic aides I DON'T EVEN KNOW?
Obviously, I thanked him profusely. The day went on without further
ado, and life was good. My pet supply suki (regular supplier) didn't
have my preferred litter in stock, apparently the Eukanuba boat is
somewhere lost in the Spratlys*. Seems the Eukanuba people also make
the Kitty's Crumble. So I'm back to gravel-type clumping litter since
my Tidy Cats non-clumping is also somewhere lost in the Spratlys.

get the idea.

Weekends are free days, because offices are closed. The color-coding scheme was set up to relieve traffic during peak hours. Yeah, right. It just shifts half the traffic to show up past 7pm.

Like the time hubby and I went up to Antipolo. I had no idea there was a sign telling people not to right turn on the red light, so got pulled over. Was very apologetic to the officer, and the funniest part was when I asked:
Me: Um...ok, so I have to go to the municipio/city hall by 2pm to get license back. How much is the fine?
Officer: Ma'am, you can't pay the fine here...
Me: Well, of course I'm not going to pay the fine here, don't be silly! I just need to know, so that I can put aside the money from the pasalubong budget.
Officer: Where are you going?
Me: Antipolo. It's a yearly thing. Obviously I need to bring home pasalubong...so I need to know how much to put aside for the fine, maybe I might need to get money from the ATM?
Officer: Antipolo? Ok, tell you what. I'll give you back your license and a warning ticket. You pray for us, and pay more attention to the signs next time, yes?
Me: OH THANK YOU, OFFICER! Yes, of course we will pray for you and light candles and tell the Virgin to look after all of you.
Officer: Thanks much, ma'am. You have a nice day now.
Me: Thank YOU. Be careful!
And that was that. I still can't get over it, but wowza, that wasn't as bad as it could have been.
