Event of the Day: The arrival of Tropical Storm AERE/Bebeng in the Luzon region. Heaven help us, but tropical storms have changed since I was a child - back then, a storm meant rain, lots of it. This one came with rain, yes, but also a lot of wind that sounded more like a typhoon than anything else. Especially at 10.30pm, when the power started to go up, down and sideways so that timing when to start and shut down the genset was like Russian roulette.

It was grocery day, which went off rather well until it was time to go home. To top it off, the Buendia (yes, I will forever call it Buendia, so sue me) overpass was under repair and the remaining side had, obviously, a counterflow lane, which served to slow traffic a little bit. Nothing like being on top of that flyover with a lightning show in front of you and a solid wall of black cloud/rain behind you. *nods* Got home to a chorus of welcome from the kittehs, amidst the pouring rain. What a mercy it was that the pancit malabon I ordered for a 4.30pm pickup, was ready when we stopped by at 3.30pm! So we had an excellent Mother's Day dinner at home. :)

Oh, it was also Pacquiao day. But from the sound of it, the fight wasn't as exciting as the stormy weather - though we are all glad he won. Now, if only he could settle down to being a good Congressman for a long while before the next fight. I seriously doubt he'll retire from boxing as long as there's a chance he can fight Mayweather Jr. *sigh*
