Event of the Day/March 26: Let's see, Saturday...this would be the day I attended the Women of Malolos Board of Trustees meeting. I was "volunteered" to the Board three years ago, and ended up as Secretary. I don't even know, folks. We're cooking up a project involving the restoration of ancestral homes and the development of local tourism. Apparently my skill with wordsmithing has impressed people enough so that I have to draft a project proposal.

Operative word for me is "draft". I fully expect all the other good people involved to chime in with their two bits before a final product is printed out. *grin*

Tweets below center on the Triangle Factory Fire, which marked its 100th anniversary on this day. It was a tragedy the like of which was never seen in New York City, or the entire United States, for that matter. The Triangle Factory was a sweatshop, plain and simple. It occupied the 8th, 9th, and 10th floors of a building whose name escapes me now.

Fire started on the 8th floor, spread to the 9th and 10th in very short order. The exits were locked. People jumped to their deaths. Click the links for the details, but be warned, some of those pictures are not pretty at all.
