Event of the Day: Sleeping, mostly. Catching up with a lot of online life, but mostly sleeping. My mind has been through quite a roller-coaster recently, and I guess sleep is the body's way of recharging - the quality of the sleep is such that the world could end and I woudn't give a damn. That solid.
Which is how you end up with tweets about Napoleon's penis and a couple that recreated Mills & Boon covers. *blink*
Was reading a tablet roundup article and have narrowed down my wish list to one of two units: the Samsung Galaxy Tab or the Cherry Mobile Superion. Basically, all I'd do with it is catch up on Twitter (which is why I got a prepaid Globe SIM; when I'm out, the bulk of my Twitter catch-up is while waiting in the doctor's office or at restaurants - my usage doesn't justify a monthly subscription), so I am also waiting for (a) a price drop and (b) the MyPhone tablet reviews.

Between Samsung and Cherry I dunno which I'd lean toward.. I've been drooling over the Motorola since it is running on the Honeycomb version of Android OS and gives more usability/flexibility.
Honeycomb was reconstructed specifically for Tablets whereas other forms of android are meant for cell phones, therefore smaller screens.
Some of the tech guys here at work are using the smaller Samsungs and really enjoy them. Having looked at them alongside the iPad I prefer the Samsung interface over the iPad and it seems easier to load personal data on than iPad.
iPad is awfully shiny though.

No details on launch and price, but it will be running Android. Am crossing fingers that when it launches, Android Honeycomb will be the default OS. After all, even if all I want is a device that does Twitter and Foursquare, having an OS that makes the most use of the device is always a good thing.
Of course, if said device can play movies and music in addition to Twitter and Foursquare, this might be an incentive to put up my PSP2000 for sale?
This is one reason I'm glad it takes a while for me to gratify my want for new technology. I have all the time in the world to consider the options before I finally buy. *grin*

To which the congregation respectfully intones "A-men!" *grin* No, but really, iPad is some serious shiny and stuff.
Thing is, I don't want to install iTunes on my Windows netbook for sync/update purposes, nor do I want to twiddle around with it using Linux and maybe end up borking the system.

I worked in electronics and wireless telecommunications long enough to know that the apple model is ideally geared toward a niche that I don't belong to and is created in such a way as to maximize from future sales of accessories and applications.
Love me some open-source.. c'mon Android, papa needs free apps!
