Fwd: From Twitter 03-20-2011
Event of the Day: the weekly grocery shopping at Cash n Carry. Highlight was finding out one of the cans of Fancy Feast was a new flavor on the shelf (salmon and shrimp!), but since it wasn't in the database, I couldn't buy it. Kept joshing the cashier that the management should give me the can free, and get loads of good advertising as a result. *grin* But will be looking for that flavor when I do the groceries again on Sunday.

So we had all these Fancy Feast cans, then Walker got preggie, then Pica got preggie, so the matronas ended up finishing up Budi's leftovers...as treats between Whiskas. Then Walker's kittens learned how to ask for some, Ramon and I went pusong mamon, ayun na.
Haaay, naku. Ang ginagawa ng tao dahil sa pag-ibig, ano? *grin*

Pero my God, Budi, Whiskas ka rin?

If the store is advertising/selling something then they MUST sell it to you in the USA.
The way our laws work is such that if that were to happen in a grocery in the States, the store would be required to sell it at the same price as an equivalent item. It is the store's fault for putting it on display without encoding it first.

I want to offer a promo, I have to go through ten miles of red tape to offer the promo and then I play by the rules and take down my materials when the promo is over.
What the hell is up with all these shops keeping promo material up long past the promo date? Supposedly that is illegal according to DTI - I called them on a few major ones and they just laughed saying "oh well, you know..."
No, I don't know.. either there are rules or there aren't.
The problem is that when you go into a shop after being lured in by a promo only to find out that the promo is no longer available, often you don't discover this until AFTER you've already decided to buy the item.
Meaning that the company got all the benefit of FALSE ADVERTISING.
DO that shit in the States and you'll be out of business.
DTI only looks out for DTI, nobody else.. if they can't make money off of it then they don't care.
