Aug. 19th, 2016 09:12 am* today is someone's birthday, but I don't remember whose...
* Dr. de Jesus next door passed away last Monday and there was the expected family assembly - street hasn't seen such goings-on since the last coup attempt. Another chapter of my life closes; he and his family moved in about a year after we did, and he treated Ramon for his gall bladder attack once
* the staff grapevine says the family chose to cremate the doctor straight away
* hm...have to remember that an appropriate Christmas basket is due the family
* handyman's wife not feeling well. gave him a half day off, told him not to come in tomorrow. gave him money for the doctor in addition to his salary for the week
* thinking of going on hiatus from FB for a while. all the political news is getting to me. need a break - there's always the tv and the newspaper online editions, and they have better entertainment/leisure news
* Noel is a magician - he was able to diagnose what was wrong with the stalled washing machine, got the spare part from Raon (as per recommendation from the official service center!) AND got the machine up and running!
* The whole process took 1.5 days - half day to visit the service center, one day to get the spare part and replace it.
* I hope his wife is ok. if I had Trump's money I'd pay for her medical bills, and set up trust funds for the kids, I would. But I do what I can and hope it buys them some time.
* Penmanship improves. onwards!
* I have to look for an app that can post simultaneously to LJ and Dreamwidth. By now there has to be one...
* How weird is this: am tempted to install Pokemon Go, just to see where all the baby monsters are. just that, nothing else.
* Need a few more ballpens/ink gel pens for my writing stash. my ambition is to a) get my handwriting up to speed, then b) invest in proper journals instead of steno notebooks.
* methinks I am going to be moving the cat food out of my room tomorrow? Will have to study how it will work, if ever - I will need a shelving unit most likely, as the computer desk cannot handle everything.
* oh boy. i can see a renovation/reorganization cycle approaching
* you have no idea how I wish Park Square One was somehow connected to Glorietta. I miss the old SM bridgeway so much
* I seem to be the only one in the coffee shop using a pen and notebook. Interesting!
* it's been a season of deaths - first it was cousin gerry, then the husband of another cousin, Ging, now the doctor next door. it's sad, when people who were part of your life for a long while (the doctor knew me before his youngest sons were born, cousin gerry entered my life when i was a tween) suddenly go
