(no subject)
Jan. 9th, 2016 10:20 pm*settles down in bed with a sigh* i finally did my duty by Ramon today, and had his ashes placed in their final resting place at the St Therese de Lisieux Shrine in Villamor. It was the church where we were married, though not in its present form. It was much smaller then, as expected of an air base Chapel. Now it's a Basilica, rather grand, and the colombarium is lovely.
It was a simple affair. I was pressed into service as the Mass reader, which i am sure Ramon would have appreciated. No choir, and it was just me, my bestie, my goddaughter's bestie as both friend and proxy, as aforementioned goddaughter was laid low by a bug. Plus my husband's two cousins. His sister was already home in Singapore.
We were done before lunch, at which point my bestie -having volunteered to be my chauffeur to and from the Shrine- spirited me off to Bondi and Burke's in Legaspi Village for a marvelous lunch that will take until tomorrow noon to digest properly.
After making a quick pass through Buendia to drop off food for my goddaughter, i was ferried home. I changed clothes and dropped off the last of Ramon's disposable stuff at Santuario. Some of my excess stuff as well, i mean, as long as i was purging stuff...
Then i dashed to the vet to check on Buchi. Am pleased to report she is much better. She is eating and moving around, she has graduated from the heating pad and obviously wants to come home. Too soon for that, though. Kidney and liver test after three days, then we shall see. Tried not to cry when i left her, her face was the definition of woe.
Home to life in the new normal without Ramon. Rearranged my cabinets a bit, stored the Christmas decor, and had a nap. Alone now, but not lonely. There are a lot of things to keep Ramon's presence alive...like the cats, and his books. His DVDs and music CDs (which need sorting). I'll be fine.
