small things: bedroom cleanup

yes, the long overdue floor maintenance of my bedroom finally took place
this afternoon. new maid Vicki and I started by moving out all the
furniture (and hubby also).

then there was sweeping and mopping and even getting dust out from under
the bed. how we never got respiratory problems is evidence that heaven
preserves us. there was waxing of the floor and buffing of same.

returning the furniture gave me a chance to make over the room, in a way.
pics to follow; the room feels lighter, and, surprisingly, wider, even with
the same pieces. who would have thought stacking things differently could
do that?

the new kitchen maid, Michelle, is doing all right. considering she arrived
just as the maintenance crew began work on the kitchen cabinets? the daily
menus have improved, and the kitchen cabinets are organized as I have never
seen them before. I may yet be able to save on takeout meals if this keeps
up!

Did:
* kitty breakfasts and romping at 4am
* relabeled Ramon's medicine boxes to reflect dosage changes
* strip bed, installed fresh linens, laundered old ones
* laundered old pillows
* cleaned bedroom, rearranged bedroom furniture
* printed out Dad's ID cards for his pension renewal
* had a nap
* cleaned litter pans

Didn't:
* pay a bill yesterday. pfft.

Will Do:
* see if I can convert one balance into installment payments (6mos)
* get desktop computer checked and fixed. please pray that my hard drive
data is safe/recoverable.
* groceries and drugstores tomorrow, as usual. must remember to tell
Michelle we won't be in for lunch.
