Event of the Day: Rain, rain, and still more rain. Well, what else was to be expected with a typhoon in the north?

Stayed home, and besides, there was nothing that needed doing outside the house. Tried to tidy up the bedroom and organized some stuff, it seems I did a lot of sleeping. You'd think I'd never slept before, the way I power nap. Lots of monitoring of the impending arrival of Hurricane Irene on the East Coast; seems eerie for New York City, of all places, to be facing the eye of a hurricane.

Bonded with my Tabbie, and had fun cocooned in bed with Twitter access, as you can tell from the substantial log below. *grin*

Event of the Day: Thankfully, the rain let up enough for me to get to my mall of choice, and so was able to get the groceries and other things done.

The usual Sunday rounds, starting with Mercury Forbes to get Ma's vitamins. Then Cash and Carry, for Sunday brunch at Luk Yuen, where Ramon and I split an order of fried noodles with mixed meat, and siomai.

Got two pasalubong packs from Red Ribbon - chocolate slices and cheese rolls. Ma does love her dessert at the end of a meal, she does. *grin*

Got the new Avanza key duplicated, will give one copy to dad, use the other, and keep the original as a spare.

Got a second-hand Betty Neels from BookSale, a title I haven't got yet, which pleased me greatly. I am beginning to think I have a full collection, though I haven't checked the titles off the master list yet.

Got a foot massage, which felt wonderful. Skipped the pet supply store, as they don't seem to be getting any love at all from the Kitty's Crumble people. Plus, I'm not so much liking the vibe coming off from the manager. Can't pin it down but there is something there I'm not cosy with. *shrug*

Groceries included a new mop and it's spare mop head, for the kitchen. Then all the usual suspects for household care.

Home, to life as usual while groceries were unpacked and put away; litter pans cleaned, and an almost-nap was had.

Event of the Day: bringing Walker and Baguette to the vet. The naughty girls managed to unpick their spaying stitches, so off to Vets in Practice we went. You can see the results in the tweets below. Baguette was such a good girl about getting her stitches, though she whimpered a bit while being held down, and feeling the shot of the local anesthesia. I wisely closed my eyes when the vet had to reopen the wound site a wee bit, and cracked them open to focus on Baguette's face while the one stitch was installed.

Poor wee babe clung to me when she was released, and barely complained when I set her back in her carrier. Ramon, the dear man, could not watch his darlings go through any discomfort, and was nowhere to be seen during the stitch-up. Well, what can I say, I married a man with a soft heart for wee creatures. *hugs*

Went home, dropped off the kittycats with their new e-collars (which they managed to remove on their own by the end of the day, bless!), soothed Ma getting all upset at the sight of the babies unhappy, then headed off to SM Makati. Ma asked me to buy a couple of stems of silk flowers, to update the flower arrangement beneath our Sacred Heart image. Found two nice looking stems, in light colors to contrast against the mainly red flowers already in the vase.

Had lunch at the Food Court, we tried a new Korean food stall whose food is good, but barely holds a candle to the original beef stew served up by Kimchi. Ramon heard the only authentic branch left is in Robinson's Galleria, which is such a bummer. I know there was a stall in Mall of Asia, but not sure anymore if it is still operational.

Merienda was coffee and apple pie at McDonald's.

We then went to Greenhills because Ramon had been invited to a franchising seminar and he wanted to check it out. When we got there, not only did he not find his contact person, the whole thing sounded a wee bit like a multi-level marketing set up. *shrug* Ah well, it's a good enough opportunity for those with the capital. Ramon thinks the target market demographic are OFWs or their kids, who are looking to make a little extra money.

Got home early enough to check on our patients, who were happy to see us. Baguette was all about extra cuddle time, and was very vocal about it. Naturally, she got what she wanted. *grin*

Not much else happened worth mentioning. All's well, and we are content.
