Event of the Day: Well, it's been four days since I last updated! Since hubby and I were out on Friday, Saturday was ostensibly a day of rest. However, since I was home, I woke up early to do laundry, then went back to sleep once the second load was started in the washer. Had brunch. Sorted out things. Life as usual, more or less.

Event of the Day: Catching the new Captain America movie in its theatrical release. I thoroughly enjoyed the movie, as did Ramon, which is a good thing, since I had to pay for my seat, and when a movie costs Php170 to see, it is fervently to be desired that said movie proves entertaining. Quick reax: I could not stop chuckling when Howard Stark, Iron Man's daddy, made his appearance. He so strongly reminded me of the pictures of young Howard Hughes! So when I read that Hughes was indeed the inspiration for Stark senior, I was rather smug about that little bit of information. Loved the Easter egg at the end of the credits - I have now made a note to watch The Avengers.

Skipped my usual massage session, since the movie let out too late to indulge. Couldn't have it before the movie, because we arrived with just enough time for Sunday brunch. I did get a couple of tech accessories at CD-R King, like a keyboard protector skin for Neo netbook, and a new pair of earbuds.

Did the groceries, and since my usual pet supply store is *still* not getting any love from their Kitty's Crumble supplier, I decided to pass by the Pet Express at the SM Hypermart next door. Playing on this hunch scored me a 35L bag of litter, and two more bags on order. I have built up a respectable reserve of the stuff now, which pleases me muchly.

Back home, to life as usual. Was feeling a bit achy and blue, and I find a reminder from cyclespage.com that my lady bits are about to have themselves a party soon. There go my logical faculties for the next week or so.

Event of the Day: A visit to the office of Senator Jinggoy Estrada, to present our historical society's project for the preservation of heritage homes in Malolos, Bulacan; as well as to turn the Kamestizuhan district into a tourist stop. This with the end in view of soliciting funds to keep the restoration going.

Ramon and I started the day by dropping at the bank, where I changed one of the account numbers on my EPS list. Then I ordered a new checkbook, since apparently checks will have a new format come September. Not that I have written a whole lot of checks since my other bank saw the light and allowed payments via my EPS account, which is a great convenience.

Then on to the reclamation area and the Home Depot corner, where Ramon and I had lunch at Jollibee. A bit of joyriding, then I left hubby at the Mall of Asia while I went to look for the Senate building. Luckily I remembered the way, and even luckier, scored a parking slot right in front of the main gate.

And then I waited, it being 1.30pm and the other folks supposed to join me were nowhere in sight. The appointment was at 2pm, and by the time 1.45pm rolled along, I was getting antsy. I was not brought up to appear at appointments at the hour assigned; thanks to Ma, I generally arrive at the building at least an hour before. This gives me time to find the visitors' parking, visit the washroom, and tidy up before arriving at the office in question a quarter-hour before the appointment. Which then gives me time to make nice with the secretary/receptionist, sit down and relax.

Eventually the others showed up, but then my jittering increased as I realized our main spokesperson wasn't going to be there. So I started mentally rehearsing the bare bones of the project, because wowza, there were lots and LOTS of people at the Senator's office! The Senator being called into an urgent meeting with the Senate President, I ended up talking to the chief of staff instead. He seems a very nice, extremely harrassed man - as who wouldn't me, acting as a buffer between the crowd and his boss.

In the end, he gave us the standard line about forwarding our information kit to his boss, and we are supposed to get a call when the result is handed down.

From there, we went our separate ways. I dashed back to the Mall of Asia, my head pounding gently after all the anti-climactic events; met up with Ramon at the Pizza Hut, and once we had ourselves a good meal, headed for the Pet Express at the corner of the South Wing. There I scored six small bags of Kitty's Crumble, which builds up my stock to an extremely respectable buffer. Left Ramon with the bags while I got the car, and thank heavens for stores with benches at their front door, so the poor man could sit!

Picked up hubby at the curbside, then home to more heat, which did nothing for my aching head. Let's just say I pretty much did everything by rote until it was time for my evening shower; which went a long way to refreshing me. Certainly it felt like the grime of ages had clung to me, and it was a joy to be rid of it.

Event of the Day: Maintenance crew was in, to raise the heights of the electric outlets in the lanai, per Dad's specifications. It's his safety precaution in case our drains ever get clogged or backed up due to heavy rains. Should the water level rise above the baseboard, at least no one will face the risk of electrocution should they dash into the lanai. Though I still intend to turn off the power to those outlets anyway.

Started the day with laundry and a good breakfast, just as the maintenance crew arrived.

Had my bedroom ceiling cleaned, then the blades of the ceiling fan switched out to replace the ones in the kitchen. As a result, I have laid claim to the brand-new box fan, which ventilates the bedroom something fierce. Together with the existing box fan, we now have fairly even temperatures in the room - which keeps Ramon's migraines from being triggered.

I took out all the tote bags and gave them a good shaking-out before tossing the cloth ones into the washing machine, and before the day was out, I had beautifully clean and disinfected tote bags. *nods* Rearranged my headboard shelves and went poking into spaces that needed more cleaning.

So tomorrow (Wednesday) is going to be busy. Pet Express at the Hypermart sent me a text to say I could pick up my Kitty's Crumble, the 35L bags - have worked them into my itinerary between dropping Ma's physio at the jeepney stop, and dropping by the WOMFI office to sign checks. Need to visit Healthy Options and Rustan's grocery as well.

06:43 Luv how my entree into Google+ came from an invite rather than via Google. Now to very carefully build my Google network. #
06:52 Saw sunlight when I went out the door. Threw laundry in machine. Now, it's raining. Eh? It's just the one load anyhow. No biggie. #
