Event of the Day: Sunday was pretty much *the* day of rest for a change. I'd already done the medicines/groceries bit the day before, and so felt I earned the right to just be a layabout for a change. After all, I'd spent a little over a week moving around town for one thing or another, and my knee (not being the spring chicken I used to be) was starting to register protests at such unusual usage.

Pretty much life as usual, all things considered. Managed to catch up on most internet stuff, twiddled around with Tabbie, bonded with the cats, slept and then some. Not bad. Plus, the weather was just about right for lying in bed and reading.

Event of the Day: Filing, filing, and yet more filing. Basically, what I've been doing over the days that I never got to actually getting papers into the filing cabinet is - sort each incoming document by category. Today was for sorting by year within category, and then cross-checking with files already in the cabinet. So there was quite a bit of merging as three years' of old billing statements were consolidated into a single brown envelope instead of each year having its own envelope. All the freed envelopes were stacked in a utility basket, and then recycled as the need arose. My labeling system is easy, too. I just write the file name on the upper left of the envelope. With recycled envelopes, I just cover over the old label with masking tape and write the new file name on that. I am a bit high on the fumes of pentel pen ink. *grin*

I was on such a roll that it was all I could do to let go of the organizing when dinner rolled around, but somehow I managed it. There's something very satisfying about the prospect of having another empty bin for things that have been asking for a permanent home. Tomorrow looks to be a fair day, and so laundry is on the schedule.

Did I mention that my monitor has that awful ink-blot thing on it again? At least it's not two, like last time, it's just the one in the lower left corner. Still! I have the purchase receipt and the first repair receipt in hand; the monitor has been packed away for its trip to the repair shop, and eventually all will be well again. In the meantime, I am hooked up to the TV/monitor, and so I manage to keep the in the internet world.
